Round up day 4 – DPD Dutch Junior Open 2019

It’s Sunday, it’s finals day with ten championship matches on Centre Court. With players in the Girls u11, Boys u13, Boys u17, Girls u19 and an English final at the Boys u19, England was well represented this Sunday. All Dutch hope was based on Rowan Damming and Fleur Maas, who were both competing for the title in their category.

This Super Sunday started with a thriller between Lauren Baltayan and Anahat Singh. After more than one hour Anahat Sigh took the win and the title in the Girls U13. Next Luhann Groenewald an Alexander Broadbridge appeared at Centre Court to compete for the title in the Boys U13. It was close, but in the end, Alexander Broadbridge took the match and the title.

Both Rowan Damming and Fleur Maas did a great job and claimed their title in Boys U15 and Girls U17. This year’s DPD Dutch Junior Open ended with an all English clash between Max Forster and Sam Todd. With long rallies, beautiful strokes and intense points, they played an fantastic match. After five thrilling games Sam Todd took the match and the title.

The organization likes to thank all players, coaches, parents and supporters. Special thanks to the sponsors DPD Pakketservice, Dunlop, Cheaptickets and Frans Otten Stadion. Tournament Director Tom Lucas: “I want to thank everyone for making it such an amazing event. Without everyone’s effort, this wouldn’t have been half as great as this year’s edition. Special thanks to Cheaptickets who have supported the Dutch youth for the last years. Today their effort resulted in two beautiful titles in Boys U15 and Girls U19. And I hope to see you all next year!”
